As dealt elsewhere in the About Us section, Hallmarking is a legal requirement for selling silver over a certain weight (around 9gms) in the United Kingdom. Jewellery is sent to one of the 4 Assay offices to be tested and then stamped with a hallmark that states that it is indeed 925 or Sterling Silver.
As we are based in Gibraltar we are not legally subject to this requirement. It is a time consuming and expensive process. We have, however sent some of our pieces to be assayed and these do carry an official UK hallmark. The rest of our pieces have been stamped with a 925 courtesy mark. Each piece is described with whichever mark it is carrying.
